Erol Cansız

He was born in Istanbul in 1983. He entered Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in 2001. After 2 years of general dentistry experience, he started his specialty training at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry (Çapa Faculty of Dentistry), Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department in 2009 in order to pursue an academic career. He became a faculty member in the same department in 2014. During his residency training, he began to be interested in maxillofacial surgery and to perform complicated surgeries in this field.

In 2015 in order to improve his knowledge and experience on maxillofacial surgery he worked for six months in Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Otorhinolaryngology.

In 2015, he worked in Osnabruck, Germany, at Clinicum Osnabruck Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, and in London, England in 2016, at St.Georges Medical University Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. In order to perform complicated surgeries in this field at the standards in developed countries, he decided to study at the medical faculty and entered the university exam again in 2017 and entered the Bezmialem Faculty of Medicine with a YÖK scholarship and he finished it too. In August 2019, he received the title of Associate Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Meanwhile, in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine (Çapa Medical Faculty), considering that this branch cannot be an independent branch from dentistry, to contribute to the future of the department in our country, he started to work as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a background in dentistry. Erol Cansız, who is still working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University, also works in an additional task at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, Istanbul University. Erol Cansız accepts his private patients in his consulting clinic in Caddebostan, Istanbul, and performs complicated surgeries at Florance Nightingale, Memorial and Medicana hospitals. Although he is interested in all areas of maxillofacial surgery, he is particularly interested in orthognathic surgery and temporomandibular joint surgery.
